Vintage Yamaaki Japanese Bonsai Pot
This is a small vintage Japanese bonsai pot, believed to be a Yamaaki pot, with a beautiful aged glaze and excellent character for a smaller bonsai or accent planting.
The pot features a rounded form with a rich, textured glaze in dark brown, blue, charcoal, and soft green tones. The glaze has wonderful movement and variation, giving the pot an older, more natural feel that would pair especially well with a mature tree in miniature.
The interior is unglazed and shows signs of previous use, which is common with older bonsai pots. The pot has drainage and wire holes, along with a maker’s mark on the underside.
This would be a strong choice for a small bonsai, mame or shohin composition, accent planting, flowering bonsai, tropical tree, or a small tree where an older glazed Japanese container would add character without overwhelming the composition.
Please note: this is a used vintage pot and does show age, patina, and signs of previous use. There is a small chip on the underside of the pot. It is not noticeable from normal viewing angles unless you turn the pot over, but we have included photos for full transparency.

We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
