This is a beautiful opportunity for anyone who wants to create a Japanese Zelkova forest bonsai without starting from loose seedlings. The hard part has already been started for you. Multiple young trunks have been planted together in an oval training pot, creating the foundation for a future grove-style bonsai with natural movement, layered depth, and a soft deciduous canopy.
Japanese Zelkova is one of the classic species for forest bonsai. The fine branching, small serrated leaves, and upright growth habit make it especially well suited for creating the feeling of a miniature woodland scene. As these trees develop, the trunks will continue to thicken, the canopy can be refined, and the planting can be shaped into a more mature forest composition.
Right now, these are being offered as pre-bonsai forest arrangements. They are healthy, vigorous, and already planted as a group, but they are not finished bonsai yet. Next spring, they can be moved into a ceramic bonsai pot, giving the next owner the chance to turn this into an instant forest-style bonsai arrangement while still having plenty of creative control over the final design.
We only have 7 available in this release, and no additional Japanese Zelkova forest arrangements are expected until spring 2027. If you have been wanting to build a deciduous forest bonsai, this is a great head start with a species that responds beautifully to bonsai development.

Shipping Bonsai Trees:
Bonsai trees are generally shipped on Mondays & Tuesdays to avoid having them stay in the boxes for any extra time over the weekends.
Shipping Non-Tree Items
All non-bonsai items such as bonsai pots and bonsai supplies are shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment. Most orders are shipped either the same day or the next day, depending on the time of day the order is received.
Important Guidelines:
** We cannot ship to a FPO, APO, P.O. Box or to locations in Alaska, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii or anywhere internationally.
** All Bonsai are shipped direct from the nursery and may ship separately from other items purchased via the Bonsai Outlet.
** If extreme weather is expected, we may delay shipping your Bonsai tree to guarantee a healthy arrival; in such a case we will contact you. We are shipping living trees and must be conscious of the temperature conditions to the delivery address, as well as, while in transit. That said, we reserve the right to hold the tree(s) to guarantee a healthy delivery. We will Hold Your Tree Until It is Safe to Ship.
