Mature Juniper Pre-Bonsai with Excellent Taper and Finished Pad Structure
This Juniper pre-bonsai is an incredible piece of material with the right size, excellent taper, and a strong established silhouette already in place.
The tree has a mature, compact presence without being oversized or difficult to manage. The trunk has age, movement, and taper, while the foliage has already been developed into layered pads that give the tree a very polished appearance. It is not a young starter tree. This is the kind of pre-bonsai that already feels close, with the structure, density, and proportions bonsai enthusiasts look for.
What makes this tree especially appealing is the balance. The canopy is full and refined, but not so overgrown that the tree feels heavy. The branching has clear horizontal structure, the trunk is visible through the design, and the mica training pot gives the tree a stable, practical foundation for continued development.
This is still considered pre-bonsai because it is planted in a mica training pot, but the tree is much further along than typical nursery material. With continued refinement, cleaning, thinning, and future pot selection, this Juniper has excellent potential to become a beautiful finished bonsai.
Juniper bonsai are outdoor trees. They need to be grown outside in strong light with good airflow. They are not indoor bonsai.

Care Notes
Juniper bonsai should be kept outdoors year-round. Place the tree in a bright location with strong sun and good airflow. Water thoroughly when needed, then allow the soil to begin drying slightly before watering again. Do not keep this tree indoors.
During winter, Junipers need cold dormancy but should be protected from extreme wind, repeated freeze-thaw stress, and drying conditions. In colder climates, an unheated garage, cold frame, or protected outdoor location is often appropriate during the harshest winter weather.
Shipping Information
This tree ships from our Massachusetts nursery. We pack carefully to protect the tree, pot, foliage, and soil during transit. Some minor soil movement or light shifting can happen during shipping, especially with larger living trees.
Please Note
All trees are sold as-is. All sales are final – no refunds, returns, or exchanges. Once the tree leaves our nursery, care is your responsibility. Have questions? Just reach out—we’re happy to help.
We ship thousands of bonsai trees and supplies each year, and every order is packed with care by our team. Live trees are watered, secured, and packaged to help them arrive safely and ready for their new home.
Live bonsai trees generally ship early in the week, Monday and Tuesday, to reduce time in transit. Tools, pots, soil, fertilizer, and other non-living items usually ship throughout the week.
Bonsai Outlet is a licensed nursery, not just a warehouse. We follow the proper inspection and certification requirements for shipping live plants across state lines. When a state requires additional documentation, such as a nematode certificate or nursery inspection certificate, we work to ensure the proper requirements are met before shipping.
